6 Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Website

There's more than one way to drive traffic to your own website. You can't just rely on one technique, and hope that it brings in more traffic for you. With that being said, I will be going over 6 different ways you can use to drive traffic to your website depending on where you are at in your business and what you sell. I will also be showing you examples of which is the best method for you to start on first depending on your business priorities.

 

1)Pinterest

Pinterest is a good way to drive traffic to your website, because when you pin your products, people see them. Its easier to use than Instagram. When you post to Instagram, you have to constantly post things as well as get them to click on the link withing the profile. On Pinterest, if they click on your photo, it can take them directly to your website. Don't make your customers work harder to find you. With pinterest you just pin your products and wait for sales. It is a passive way to drive traffic to your website. There are only two Cons to using pinterest to drive traffic to your website is that it takes time to implement it and to see sales. Don't expect to only have it up for 3 days and expect 30 sales. The second con would be that pinterest users aren't loyal. They aren't searching for a specific brand. They search for a phrase and purchase the one that they are most attracted to or that makes the most since for what they are looking for. If you sell one of a kind items or "vintage" items I would not recommend that you do anything on Pinterest. Instead you should get a E-mail list of work on Social media platforms, especially ones like Instagram

 

2)Email List

The pros of having an email list is that your customers are loyal. They signed up for your e-mail list because they love your products and would purchase from you again. Because its a more loyal fan based, your conversion will usually be higher. If you are thinking about starting a e-mail list, just remember that it takes time getting people to sign up. You can still e-mail your subscribers even if you only have 6 people on your list. They don't know that you only have 6 people you are e-mailing. When you e-mail your subscribers you have a better chance of  getting a higher conversion rate. Because you are sending a e-mail to your target market that has already purchased from you before. So there is a higher chance that you will get them to convert again. If you sell one of a kind items or vintage items, then you need to have an e-mail list! Having a e-mail list will for that style of products will help you with conversions.

 

3)Google SEO

When you have your own website, you can't use Etsy SEO techniques on your website. You have to do google SEO. Because that is where your target market will find you. Even after you implement Google SEO correctly, it will take time to build that trust with Google. They have to make sure that you are a legit company and that your website performs well. Once you have implemented your keywords and have done off-site SEO, then it becomes a passive way to get more sales. Meaning it isn't like other platforms where you have to constantly update it in order to be found. 

 

4)Social Media

This isn't a strategy that I am currently working on, only because it has to many cons in my opinion. Such as : it is not a passive strategy. For social media to work, you have to constantly post. For instance, if you are trying to use Instagram to drive more traffic to your website, then you would need to post 2-3 times a day. One pro to using social media for your business is that  all the "cool kids" are on it. So if your target market is between the age of 23-35... then chances are they will see your posts. 

 


5)Blogging

A pro to using blogging to bring in more traffic, is that you don't have to blog consistently. You just have to have valuable content to blog about. 


For example: If you sell baby clothes... or onsies.
What would you blog about that is related to baby clothes?
You would blog about 10 ways to baby proof your apartment, Top 5 nursery themes in 2018, Top 20 baby names that no one has, What you should bring to the hospital the day of delivery.

 

The target market customers that are interest in your products will be interested in you blogs as well. You just have to make sure that you are implementing SEO in your blog correctly. I go over more on how to do SEO for your blogs in my SEO webinar. If you are thinking about blogging, then I would recommend that you also use Pinterest to get your blogs out there for people to see. It Isn't just about you providing good valuable content to them, its also about you recommending your products where it seems to fit. 

 


6)Advertising

In my opinion, this should be one of  the last things that you do in your business. You can advertise on Etsy or Amazon, but do not forget to do your SEO for the other platforms you are advertising on. For example: On facebook. If you are advertising on Facebook, then you have to keep up with SEO to make sure that you products are getting seen by your target market. No matter what pleatform you are advertising on, it will cost you money to do so. That is something I would not recommend that you do unless you are farther along in your business and have money for advertising. If you are struggling with sales, I would suggest working on other things first to try and drive more traffic to your website.
